PUBLIC SERVICE MESSAGE FROM THE CITY OF PARKERS PRAIRIE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT
CITY OF PARKERS PRAIRIE HYDRANT FLUSHING BEGINS MAY 1
The City maintenance team will be flushing City fire hydrants May 1st through May 22nd.
Hydrants are flushed to remove mineral deposits and sediment from water mains and to ensure they are in proper working order.
During hydrant flushing it is not unusual for customers to experience discoloration in the water and changes in water pressure.
Rusty water does not pose a health issue, but may affect the aesthetic quality of the water. If rusty water is present, customers should flush their household plumbing by opening cold water taps and flushing until clear.
If you have any questions, please call the CITY MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT at 218-338-4116.
