Minnesota Department of Natural Resources drought warning for the state of Minnesota. In accordance with the MN DNR Drought Plan, the City of Parkers Prairie has placed a ban on non-essential water use beginning July 23rd. These restrictions will be in effect for the City of Parkers Prairie until the drought warning has been lifted. Prohibited watering includes: watering of lawns, washing of buildings, driveways, sidewalks, or parking areas, washing of cars (except for commercial businesses)
Acceptable watering includes: watering of fruit and vegetable gardens, watering of flowers or newly planted trees, necessary use of water to protect public health, safety, and welfare. We appreciate the efforts of our residents to conserve water wherever possible. If you have questions regarding these restrictions, please call the City Hall at 218-338-4115
The City of Parkers Prairie offers convenient autopay for our sewer & water payments. All we need is some information from you! You can print an online form by going under the City tab, Public Utilities, and click on Forms. Then click on the Direct Payment Authorization Form to open your print options. You may also stop in our office and pick up a form. Fill out the form, make sure you sign it, and attach a voided check if you are having the payment withdrawn from your checking account. Your payment will be deducted on the 15th of each month. You will still receive a postcard in the mail so you know what amount will be withdrawn from your account each month. There will be a note on the bottom stating DO NOT PAY. AUTO DEBIT ON THE 15TH. If you have any questions please give us a call at 218-338-4115 and we’ll be happy to help!
The general election for 2020 in-person voting takes place on Tuesday, November 3rd. Voting will take place in the City Hall training room, the same as previous elections. Please note that if you reside within the city limits your polls open at 7:00 am and end promptly at 8:00 pm. If you reside in Parkers Prairie Township your voting hours are 10:00 am to 8:00 pm. If you are not registered to vote, don’t worry! Our election judges are here to help get you registered to vote!
This facility is newly renovated and currently open to the public thanks to donations. The City asks that everyone follow the posted rules and show respect for the site. ONLY paper or cardboard targets may be used, and everyone must clean up their waste after using the range. If the posted rules are not being followed, the range will be shut down.
The shooting range is located on Parkers Road (follow West Lake Street around Lake Adley)
Friday, August 14, 2020 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Located at 56320 County Highway 46 Parkers Prairie. This is the safe way to dispose of old paint and other hazardous household products. Since the governor’s Executive Order requiring Minnesotans to wear face coverings in all public indoor spaces and businesses, the City Hall will be requiring masks starting July 25th and while this order remains in place. We thank you and appreciate your cooperation!
Campfires are allowed in City limits. Your campfire must be no larger than 3′ x 3′. No household garbage should be burned, only wood and yard waste. Please be respectful of your neighbors, play it safe, and do not leave campfires unattended.
The city council decided at their meeting to open the pool on July 1st. There will be new guidelines to follow since the governor’s safe to open orders on June 10th. Please watch the website for pool news updates to come in the following days.
Due to the Governor’s restrictions as of June 1st on social gatherings we are very saddened to not be able to open our Aquatic Center for the 2020 season. We are looking forward to next season and will be looking for lifeguards. If you are interested in becoming a lifeguard, please call Beth at the City Hall for information at 338-5006.
