Parkers Prairie Jaycees

The Parkers Prairie Jaycees was re-established in August of 1998 for the purpose of providing a community organization for the younger adults in the area. We strive to be the organization of choice among adults ages 21 to 40. Minnesota has a strong Jaycees community and is one of the leading states in the nation. The Jaycee mission is to provide young people the opportunity to develop personal and leadership skills through local community service and organizational involvement while expanding the Jaycee movement. When you're a Jaycee you create a better place to live, provide fun and recreation for area youth, build strong communities, develop leadership skills, act on improvement ideas as a group, and meet new people in the area, state, and nation.

The Jaycees run many youth activities such as: Punt, Pass, and Kick, Diamond Skills, Super Shots, Gun Safety and BB Gun Competition. They also run a Fall Party for the younger children on Halloween to provide a fun and safe alternative to Trick-or-Treating. The Jaycees organized a fund-drive to raise money for new playground equipment at the city park with outstanding success.

The Jaycees also sponsor many community activities. They hold the annual Prairie Christmas Craft Show the first weekend in December and a Sweethearts Dance in February. They organize the annual Fall Festival, and provide services and funds for other groups and individuals, especially those suffering from personal tragedy.

The Jaycees meet on the first Tuesday of every month. The Jaycees encourage new members, especially those interested in improving their community.
